Official Opening of the New 3D ATC Simulator Facilities for the National University of Public Service, Hungary

April 23rd, 2025

Last month the National University of Public Service, officially opened its new 3D ATC simulator facilities in Szolnok, Hungary.

The system installed is the Edda Systems’ eCoach ATC simulator. It includes Tower, Approach and Area control positions in addition to pilots and Instructors in the facilities.

The system is designed for advanced training in all ATC domains - civilian and military - but will also be used extensively for advanced research within the drone area. It enables multi-domain operations and gate-to-gate simulations. Edda Systems is proud to have been trusted with the responsibility.

From the Opening Ceremony

“The equipment itself was supplied by a Norwegian company – Edda Systems Ltd. – which specializes
in the production of air traffic control simulators; the company also employs soldiers, which was
beneficial for us because thanks to this, special functions were built into the system that do not exist
in civil aviation, but for us, soldiers, they provide the reality of everyday flight.”

Colonel Mátyás Palik,
Deputy Dean of Military Aviation at the
Hungarian University of Science and
Technology
